New blog - HC

I have decided to keep this blog purely for 40K so I have made a Heroclix blog for those interested in that. You can find it here.

GW Price Increases

Look out, once again GW are about to put their prices up yet again!

We all know that they are a business with shareholders but there really is no need for this. We can take it or leave it but this isn't helping new players get into the hobby. Established players already have their armies. All this does is support those players with a generous disposable income.

At this time I am considering buying the new rulebook and the codexes as usual, but my plans on doing a new army have been shelved, possibly for good.

I can see 2012 being the last time Warhammer players accept these rediculous price increases, and that isn't a knee jerk reaction.

40K planes

Thanks to Matt for finding these.

Hate to say it but that hideous eyesore makes the Stormraven look beautiful. Why can no one do a SM plane that looks like it should?

The new necron flyer (forget the name right now) looks nice.

Looks suitable Orky.

6th edition rumours

There have been a number of rumours of late about 6th edition 40K, and after reviewing them I am calling BS on the whole lot. It seems to me that someone out there desperately wants to believe 40K will go with the way of Warhammer Fantasy and I just don't see it. Here's whats been posted:

Charge reactions.
Random charge movement.
Random psychic powers and psi ratings.
Hull points for vehicles (each glancing knocks a HP off and when it hits zero it is wrecked).
Pre-measuring movement and shooting.
Special characters can challenge opposing special characters in assault.
All units get a 6+ inv save versus psychic powers.

Of all these, I can only see pre-measuring for everything and charge reactions being used. Everything else is obvious wish-listing. If 40K turns into Fantasy I will be very very dissapointed and more than a little pissed off.

So, today there has been a few posts about flyer rumours for 40K. This is the only picture that has been posted thus far and it is a design for a new space marine flyer.

So, personally I don't like it. It looks more fugly than the Stormraven. Should this be true I will just buy the FW Stormeagle model and use that because it looks like what a space marine plane should look like.

But at least the flyers rumours from last year are beginning to come true by looks of it.
